I just got waitlisted for decker. If I accept a position on the waitlist, does anyone know if I have to accept it if I get admitted?

Well my friend just got into Harpur with a 15,000 scholarship. Additionally thereās an invite only First Year Research Immersion honors program that he got into. His UW GPA - 3.75 and W GPA - 4.00
No SATās or anything
Youāll probably be notified about the waitlist result after May 1 - and if you havenāt already committed to a college by then, youāll have no choice but to go to BU should they accept you.

You can accept a spot on the waitlist, and then decline an offer for admission if you get one. So thereās no harm in accepting it unless youāre sure you are going somewhere else.
My wait is over. I will be going to RIT. I did not get in.
I had a 95.6 uw average. I was top 10% of my senior class of 623.
Wow. Iām surprised you did not get in. You are above Bing and RIT is a good school.
Thatās ridiculous. Those are more than good enough stats to get in if you had a decently hard course load and extracurriculars. I get more and more anxious everyday seeing qualified people like you get rejected. Itās a complete crapshoot this year for all colleges I thinkš

Thatās exactly why he was rejected - he was overqualified and they donāt accept students they know might join better schools.
My friend received a rejection decision last nightā¦ She had a 94 GPA, was applying for computer science and has taken mandarin Chinese since 7th grade. Also had great recs and played varsity tennis.
Looks like yesterday was a tough day, I hope the rest of the days arent the same.
I donāt think that SUNYs practice yield protection so this is unlikely to be the reason. I think that Binghamtonās admissions were extremely competitive this year, and Watson was one of the more difficult schools to gain admission to.
@Luv2run2021 RIT is a great school and Iām sure it will be an even better fit for you than Bing. You should be very proud of yourself!
Hey yāall 2 quick questionsā¦ does Binghamton release on Fridays? And has anyone received a decision without having a portal change?
Looks like a few acceptances above last Friday (March 19), so fingers crossed.
I emailed them today and hereās what they said āThank you for your email and continued interest in Binghamton University. Decisions are being released weekly and all will be sent out by April 1.
Our admissions team is working diligently to finish the reviews on remaining applications. We appreciate your patience at this very busy time.

So they should be done within the next six days.
Just checked my portal and there is no update but there is a waitlist response under formsš. Called admissions they said 4:30pm letters going out.
