I always ask schools to attach the letter of continued interest to my file. To be honest, I don’t think it really helps since almost everyone writes a LOCI, so don’t worry if you didn’t ask them to attach the letter. Also, most admissions counsellors attach the letter to your file witthout you even asking them.
Hey I just got accepted into Harpur last week and I was wondering if it is at all possible to try to be transferred into Watson at any point?
When I sent my LOCI she replied with a thank you then said she will attach it to my file (without me asking)
You can ask. I would wait a little just because many people have not committed. Maybe try after Ivy Day (April 6) since there will be a lot of withdrawals after that.
D’21 Received the following from Bing for Harpur:
Thank you for your application to Binghamton University. Admission this year was highly competitive with more than 39,000 first-year applications. Although we are not able to offer you direct admission to Binghamton University this fall, we were impressed with your application, which is why I’m pleased to admit you into the Binghamton Advantage Program – a joint program between Binghamton University and SUNY Broome Community College.
Students in this program live on Binghamton’s campus while they take classes as an enrolled student at SUNY Broome. After fulfilling the academic criteria listed below, BAP students transfer to Binghamton to complete their degree and graduate as a Binghamton student.
This wasn’t on the top of her list but I heard they had a great science program. While it sounds ideal to pay $32K for a community college (room/board, all expenses) vs. $65K for Bing U per year. We are opting for one of our other acceptances. Best wishes to all.
Yes, that option occurs often. Usually in the spring they take classes at Bing, so it’s honestly not such a bad thing. Additionally, they sometimes fully admit them to Bing for Fall, as I heard a few people who this happened to last year. It’s not a bad option at all and it’s something to consider.
Yeah same. I guess everyone does write an LOCI. I thought it would help differentiate my application but nope
Is anyone else waiting for Harupur and was deferred EA? I’m really hoping to get in this wait is brutal😭 Do yall think decisions could be today?
I still am. Idk why it’s taking so long. I applied (and got into) Syracuse two and a half months later and I found out ten days ago. Bing was literally the second application I finished and it could be the last one if I don’t hear by tomorrow. I have better offers from Syracuse (Newhouse), Miami, and even a transfer option from Boston University. People with similar or even worse stats heard yet I have not. Honestly Bing isn’t going to beat those other options so it doesn’t even matter at this point.
I was just sent an email that my decision for Harpur is out. So hopefully for the rest they’ll come out today or some time this week. They accepted me for spring 2022 so idk if they’re accepting others for Fall 2021.
I just got in too, but not for EOP
Daughter was just accepted to Harper. Submitted in Oct/Nov. Unfortunately she’s was a little disenfranchised:-) & picked another school. Good luck to everyone. I hope those of you had your hearts set on Bing get in. You will land where you are meant to be.
Actually I got in for spring 2022, but not fall 2021. I don’t even understand what that means.
Basically if you decide to attend, you will be starting in the spring semester so you have the fall semester off.
I was offered direct admission to Binghamton University’s Pharmacy Early Acceptance Program, good luck to everyone else still waiting
Hey I was accepted for the Binghamton Advantage Program does anyone know anything about it? Is it worth it?
Me too
You’ll be taking classes at Broome Community College while living on Binghamton University campus with an opportunity to transfer to Binghamton after one or two years.
got accepted into harpur for spring 2022.
Has anybody heard from Watson today?
