SUNY Bing: Placement tests for incoming freshmen

Freshmen students at SUNY Bing interested in Calculus have to take a placement exam. I’m not interested in a career in math because I am a history major/education minor (and I’m also not the greatest at the subject of math in general).
On the website it says there are other options for courses to take in place of calc (especially for people in my situation, majors that do not require calc or upper level math)

Do I still have to take a placement exam? (Do they have a science, other subjects placement exams as well? Sorry if these are silly questions.)

Thanks!

I think I remember being confused about this, too. You only need to take the calc placement if you’re planning on taking calc. In your situation you could take any class that fulfills the math gen ed, and you’ll probably want something less intense than calc anyway. Or, if you took AP Calc in high school, that’d fulfill it right away.
