SUNY Binghamton Class of 2022

Was deferred in December. Accepted today for spring semester and put on waitlist for fall for Harpur College.

Got email at 5:06

@Shazers22 what are your stats if you don’t mind me asking? I’m still waiting to hear back from being deferred December 7th!

@hml333 not that great tbh, I’m super surprised. Going for political science with a 1200 SAT: 660 ENG, 540 MATH.
94.6 Weighted GPA. Extracurriculars: Pres of Student Council, Pres of Class, Sec of NHS, Interact for one year, some PAC, and much community service. I come from a rural school which does not offer much rigor and I am a hispanic female but I’ve taken all the AP class my school has to offer. Pretty surprised, but very content with the decision. Hope all goes well for you!

Finally opened the update!! I was accepted for spring admission and waitlisted!!! Considering I have a 3.29 GPA and a 28 ACT, I’m so excited!!! My admissions councilor said I would be denied probably after being deferred. I think being an Eagle Scout pushed them to accept me!!! I’m for sure going!!

Would anyone agree that if one hasn’t heard by tonight (3/26) it is definitely a rejection? Did anyone who heard today get rejected? very very nervous

did anyone from EOP hear back yet? I submitted my financial documents in january and the wait is killing me :frowning:

@woahcheesecake I wouldn’t be worried 3 of my friends still haven’t heard and they are probably going to get into advantage.

ahh ok thanks! what is advantage though…

its the program where you go to community college for one year but get to live on binghamton’s campus. after one year if you maintain a 3.0 gpa (I think?) then you can become a binghamton student @woahcheesecake

oh didn’t even know about that. ok. fingers crossed

Got rejected tonight from SOM. Overall extremely upset considering I got deferred from EA and had to wait months just to get rejected…very disappointed but good luck to everyone else who is waiting.

Dang, I still haven’t heard back from them!!

Update: D WL from the SOM. I’m surprised and she is thrilled b/c now I won’t pressure her not to go to Ross at Michigan. This has been a crazy process. She was admitted to schools I thought she had no shot at (Ross at Michigan and Wash U) and then didn’t get into places seemed like she should. Best of luck to all. Guess I won’t be retiring any time soon…

@ SnowPlowMom that’s funny, I am having similar thoughts. My son was deferred in early Jan and we are still waiting to hear back. Binghamton is not even in his top 3 choices, but because it’s in-state, it’s his “best” least expensive option. I am almost hoping for a rejection or waitlist to make his pick of the OOS (more selection school) more palatable (to me) given the higher cost. I am on board with his preference, but may feel even better knowing the cheaper option doesn’t even exist!

I got deferred from Early Action on December 7th and still haven’t heard yet. My stats are pretty low and I’ve been convinced for a long time now that I probably won’t get in. It is by far my first choice. Bing is a great school and has a wonderful atmosphere but I’m pretty sure if I still haven’t heard back I’m getting rejected.

I got deferred from Early Action on January 5th, 2018 and I just got my waitlist email. My stats are pretty average. (93 avg and 1330 SAT with 6 extracurricular activities)

sorry to hear that but at least it’s better than a rejection! if you dont mind what time did you get the email today? @asdfadds

I was deferred from early action on jan 5. Today I checked my application status and I was offered to be on the waitlist for the fall semester but accepted into the spring semester. I did not receive an email saying my application status was updated I checked myself so just keep checking! Does anyone know the stats of acceptance in past years of the waitlist students being accepted into the fall? Does anyone know if I have an actual chance lol

thanks. just checked and still nothing. I applied in late november and the wait is killing me :frowning:
