SUNY Binghamton vs. University of Delaware Nursing

I was accepted direct entry into Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton and accepted into the nursing program and the honors program at University of Delaware. I’m instate for Binghamton, so it would be cheaper to go there, but I did receive scholarships from Delaware which would make it about $7,000 more a year than Binghamton. I visited and liked both schools. I’m not sure which school would be the best option.

I suggest you go on to facebook and post this question on the “UD Parents Connect” page - there are a lot of New Yorkers at Delaware, they may be able to help!

Congratulations on your admission. Did you apply RD or EA to Decker and when did you find out. Best of luck whichever you choose.

Bing and UDel are really different, but really good schools.

A nursing degree from either is excellent.

Depends on your personal preferences for where you would like to spend the next 4 years.

Also, how meaningful is the extra 28000 dollars to you?

It’s the difference of a brand new car to drive to the hospital after graduation, tuition towards NP, rent for two years while you get going in your career or a $4000 vacation each year for the seven years after graduation.

That being said. Honors programs are a recorigtion of your hard work. Congrats. But so is direct admission to Bing nursing.

SUNY Bing! If you have a direct entry program and it is cheaper, then go for it!

Congratulations! Go to Binghamton and save the money. Whether you graduate from Udel or Binghamton, your salary will be the same and your debt will be high. Also, nursing school is rigorous. You will be studying hard in your junior and senior years.
