SUNY Geneseo or SUNY Buffalo

My niece has been accepted to SUNY Geneseo and SUNY Buffalo, and I haven’t seen any recent posts about choosing between the two schools. She is undecided about her major, and she’s more concerned with campus life at both schools. She’s visited both schools, but due to Covid restrictions, she didn’t really get a good sense of each school. Can you share some advice? She’s interested in size - both class size and campus size (i.e. does she need a car at Buffalo because it’s so big or is Geneseo so small that it’s like High School all over again?), school safety, diversity, dorm life, Greek life, and other areas of school outside of academics. For example, she plays the violin and would like to keep playing at an informal level even though she is not a music major.

Thank you for your help.

Geneseo isn’t small - it’s mid-sized (actually quite large for a LAC).
Overall, students at Geneseo will be more academically minded and students at Buffalo will be more preprofessional. There will be more majors to chose from at Buffalo but they may be competitive since they’re in different colleges, so she needs to look at the secondary admission criteria, whereas at Geneseo, she’s in and she can pick anything from within the college.
