I posted something over in the serviceacademyforums about this but thought I’d cover all my bases by posting here as well.

What is this Supt’s Pin my twins are raving about? What is it? What does one do to get it? Is it REALLY something for which one procures a present for the recipient? A pat on the back?

If they are on the Sup's list that means that they made the Dean's list, plus the Commandant's List for miltary performance, and the Athletic Director's List. It's equivalent to a USFAF "hat trick," and they get to wear a pin this semester on their service dress (a combination of of a star, wreath and lightening bolts). It's a pretty select club.

well that's what i thought, but i think the top 25% must be right around a 3.0 because my roommate has a 3.1, i think, and she made it, and i didn't (argh, she's been to a single training session. i'm a little bitter at the moment. but not really. ;) )

but for mpa class ranking, i'm barely in the top half. weird...

I feel your frustration. I was royally screwed over with my first semester 4 dig MPA. As in I was ranked 50 spots from the bottom (2.5 MPA) despite being at every training session, holding up my classmates in knowledge, only one of three people never to fail a knowledge test, having great grades, and what I thought was a good attitude. I was not a happy camper and its taken till now for me to recover.

On the last semester MPAs, people expected them to be inflated when, in fact, everyone's most likely deflated and were worse than in the past. Not sure how it happened. I know myself and my group commander's MPAs were shocking to us. Many squad comms were the same way. Don't understand it. BUT, despite my lower than expected MPA, my rank halved from what I was at last semester! That's when I found out that everyone's MPAs were smacked.

Biggest thing, try not to get cynical. Run with it and keep doing your best. Also remember that a really good GPA will more than cancel out a lower MPA.

=O Sorry to go off topic... but this is urgent!

Soaring Dad! I used to live in the Houston/Clear Lake area! What a coincidence! I used to live in Big Glen? I think it was called. PRetty close to NASA and the pier which I forgot the name of.
