I have written my common app essay and Princeton supplement essay, and they are both very good, but I'm worried they are too similar. Princeton says the supplement shouldn't be a repeat, in full or in part, of the Common App essay. The two essays explore totally different aspects of me, and are different in almost every way except for the fact that the overall, general topic is the same. I would think this is not that unusual, as some applicants will have extracurriculars that are so central to their passions and their accomplishments that they would want to write multiple essays on them. Is this OK?

Thanks

You really cannot find two different things to discuss? You probably have between five to en things on activities. What about exploring something different?

The thing is, this activity is so important to me that it really needs to be the main essay, but it also answers the engineering essay perfectly. But again, I am discussing two totally different things - it’s just the overall topic that is the same.

Give it a go. Putbthem side by side. Make sure they are unique enough to differentiate thevquestions asked. Repeat activity, but try to explore different facets, paying attention to questions asked.

Foid luck!
