supplement essays - 250 words each or in total?

<p>This is probably a really obvious question to most of you so I feel embarassed to ask, but it's better to be safe than sorry (:</p>

<p>Stanford, for example, requires 3 supplement essays:</p>

<p>Candidates must respond to all three questions/topics. Please respond to the following essay topics with up to 250 words.</p>

<ol>
<li>Stanford students possess intellectual vitality. Reflect on an idea or experience that has been important to your intellectual development.</li>
<li>Virtually all of Stanford’s undergraduates live on campus. What would you want your future roommate to know about you? Tell us something about you that will help your roommate—and us—know you better.</li>
<li>What matters to you and why?</li>
</ol>

<p>I'm guessing it's 3 separate essays up to 250 words EACH, not total...is that right?

<p>Yes, 250 words each. It would be a huge challenge to answer all 3 in 250 words.</p>
