supplement help, please?

Syracuse is one of my top choices, and I really don’t have the best grades, so the supplements are kind of important to me (even though I know I can’t compensate for what I don’t have)

The first question is “Who or what influenced you to apply to Syracuse University?”
and this was what I wrote:
My mom was the one who influenced me to apply to Syracuse University. She attended the university to receive a degree in art. When she talked about attending Syracuse, she spoke of it very highly. each of our family members had their own Syracuse attire, and we would watch the Syracuse basketball and football teams compete on television. One winter break, we went there on a family trip to see the campus. She showed us around the art buildings, we walked around the campus and then went to a restaurant near campus that she said she would always go to. I was young then, but looking back on my experiences with Syracuse, the unity that I witnessed on television and the insight into traditions that my mom showed me are aspects that I would love to have in a school, which is why Syracuse is one of my top choices.

and the second question is “Who is the person you dream of becoming and how do you believe Syracuse University can help you achieve this?”, but I have NO idea what to write for that.

I’m so stressed because I want these essays to be well written and show who I really am…

it would mean so much if you guys could edit these or suggest changes/advice before I send my app in.

It’s never a good idea to post an essay, even a short one, in a public forum. Take it down if you still have time.

That said, use your limited word count to talk specifically why Syracuse. It’s great your mom is a legacy and you had lots of exposure to campus but why does it appeal to you now? Why is it an academic good fit? Socially? What traditions? Be as specific as you can. I would also eliminate that it is “one of the top choices”. You want the school to think they are THE top choice if they are. If they aren’t, leave that out, and emphasis the fit.

As for the second question, do some brainstorming about what’s important to you. What do you enjoy? What’s your favorite subject? What could you see yourself doing career wise? How do imagine seeing yourself spending your free time as an adult? Then do more research into how Syracuse can help you get there. Again, be specific!

@momofsenior1 ughh I didn’t think about posting it online…but I can’t delete it now, so

Thank you for the advice!
