How good is Wash U's English specializing in creative writing. How about it's theatre program

I know a professor who obtained her PhD in English a Wash U and is teaching at another university in British Literature. She says English at Wash U is very good.

I’m transferring to Wash U primarily because of its English program

I hope that answers any questions

Read the “Wash U versus Tufts” thread… I posted some information about the English department. It’s extremely well-regarded by all accounts.

I’ve taken many writing courses at WashU. The professors were all wonderful and respected and prolific scholars of their field. All of the writing classes I’ve taken so far were thought-provoking and by no means a breeze (not that difficult, but you’re expected to work and improve constantly in your writing). I’ve never been bored either by any of my writing classes. The fiction writing class is extremely popular-- waitlists begin quickly.
