Because all these posts from people who HAVE heard can be unnerving, let's have a survey! How many people have NOT heard—but meet ALL of the following criteria (that suggest a relatively uncomplicated application).

If:
You are not an international student.
You are not applying for a major/school that is unusually hard to get into.
Your application was complete on a timely basis.
Your grades, stats, and such are at the higher end of USC’s admits.

Simply put your name on this list so we can see how many of us are out there.

BTW, I don't mean this as a ding against a fine school--USC never said it would let us know this early! But because some on cc have heard already, it leaves the rest of us feeling a little anxious. It might be helpful to realize just how many of us are still waiting.

My son hasn’t heard yet. We live in SoCal.

My son applied to SCA but was at least hoping for a general admission regardless of the film school. His stats are well above USCs average but he hasn’t heard anything.
I vote USC as the number one most stress-inducing, confusing admissions process of any college. Why can’t they just hold all decisions (regardless of major) and release them at the same time??? Every other school does this except for those with rolling admissions (which is more dependent on when you submit your application).
I also find it frustrating that they “offer” the status check and then don’t update it and tell you not to worry when you question why none of your materials are showing as received.

My daughter hasn’t heard either…we live in Virginia. It’s pretty depressing reading all of these posts…especially the status change ones. We still only have 3boxes up…no enrollment forms and it just says “being reviewed”. It’s hard when you see kids getting in with equal or lesser stats…the waiting is hard!

so we have:

Just to clarify. I totally understand that applicants are not entitled to admission based solely on stats. Nor am I resentful of all the talented kids who have already heard. I know all of them have worked very hard for four years (and longer). My complaint is only about the way in which decisions are painfully and slowly distributed.

I haven’t heard, but I’m totally median. I have a 3.8UW/4.3W and a 30 ACT which is like SUPER average in terms of USC stats.

Maybe it will help if everyone includes their status and the last time that it changed.

alamemom - do you happen to remember the name of the thread last year where they had a list of everyone accepted by major, similar to this year’s celebration thread? It might’ve been from two years ago, actually, I’m not sure…

excellent point alamemom. The purpose of this list is simply so that people don’t feel alone. There are many excellent applicants who, * like last year *, haven’t heard yet.

I’ve been on forwarded since Feb 3rd.

<– I haven’t heard yet, I might sound dumb for saying but I’m not really sure what average is for USC stats, I’ve definitely got a low GPA, but I have a 2260 SAT and a very rigorous class list as well as 4 years wrestling +varsity / captaincy

The listed average GPA for USC accepted students is a 3.8 (in their preparing for college 2010 brochure). And collegeboard says they have an average ACT between 29 and 32 (which is different than I’ve seen in their brochures, I’ve seen them mostly listed as between a 28 and 32). I’m not sure of the average SAT… haha, just kidding, collegeboard says CR between 620 and 710, M between 650 and 640 and W between 640 and 730.

well i’m up there for SAT scores then, but my GPA is really bleh, i always thought final grades for classes should be based on test scores rather than scraps of homework that pile up and i don’t have time to do. For ECs does the average student have those over the top ones or do most have the usual - volunteering, NHS, tutoring, etc.
