to be or not to be that is the q

oh okay. I usually skip if i cant narrow it down to 2 choices.

The last PR practice test was really weird, I hope a lot of those questions don't actually show up on the real test.

Joins I've heard chem is harder to get an 800 on than bio, so I think I'm actually going to have to prep in advance for this. I haven't really looked at chem since the AP test, so this should be interesting. I have Barron's and plan on doing the practice tests during the next couple days.

oh kool, so the last PR test is wierd eh? I thought the first test was wierd cuz it had some bio stuff in it.. The second one seemed fair :].

Well, I'm not gonna spoil anything on the test, but it definitely requires people to know random chemistry knowledge. You'll see..

I think biology was covered within a page in the organic section.

wow. thanks for the help...

bad news guys. I just took the Chemistry Practice Test from the CD that comes with the REA book.... and i got a 620.. i mean, i wasnt really thinking THAT much and i really didnt give it my all (possibly cuz its on the comp ... . . .nd i prefer book tests).. but still, out of curiosity, are REA tests harder/easier than the PR/CB tests?

i think they are. i read somewhere that their just insane.

er can some more ppl confirm that? Cuz its really making me feel bad. I thought i was somewhat prepared/almost done when i got a 750 on the PR.. but now this makes me feel like cramming. Anybody got a link or something?

anybody? please? lolcats help?

I tried doing a sparknotes one and got in 600's, how do these compare to real tests?

And also,

Can anyone help on a question in the Subject tests preparation booklet (free :) ) as in how to set these problems up and answer?
What is the minimum number of moles PbSO4 that must be used to prepare 1 liter of saturated OBSI4 solution at 25 degrees C. Ksp = 1 x 10^-8?

Bumping because I also want an explanation to Yopua's questions.

PbSO4 -> Pb(+2) + SO4(-2) [<- balanced equation]

Ksp = [Pb(+2)]*[SO4(-2)]

substitute values:
1 x 10^-8 = [x]*[x]

solve for x, x = 1 x 10^-4 M, since its 1 L, you have 1 x 10^-4 moles

yeah, so anybody know anything about REA and its difficulty?

I got a 750 on my second sparknotes test, but I haven't taken the real thing yet. Apparently sub-700s on sparknotes have gotten 800 on the real test though. Any more word on this would be great.

Thanks nd09! I can't believe I forgot all that despite just taking the AP test. Thanks!

I am in the same boat as you sushant. I got a 670 on first test, and a 730 on second. Hoping to get a 750 on real, using both barrons and pr atm.

oh, yeah PR seems okay, i mean, it seems fair. REA on the other hand, i got a 620 >_> REA better be like barrons cuz if its like the real thing, then that SUX.

I'm taking the REA one's also.

I got 720+ on most of them... But I took a Barron's one and got an 800. So in my opinion, REA is definitely harder. Sparknotes is a lil harder also.

Is everyone here taking the SAT II Chem on June 7th?

EDIT

ALSO!

The 3rd practice test in the REA book has some crazy organic chemistry on it. So that further proves my point that REA is harder than usual.
