I recently got into a bit of trouble getting caught up in a situation in which a little over an ounce of weed and a small amount of vyvanse was found in a dorm I was partying in. I’m getting a distribution charge because anything over an ounce is considered poss. w/ intent to distribute in my state and a regular possession charge for the vyvanse. Nothing was found on my person or in my possession directly but I’m still being charged with the school, however I’m facing 0 criminal charges and was not arrested so my criminal record is clean, if that matters. Because I did not want to waste 10k paying for this semester just to be suspended, I went ahead and withdrew from my university and have enrolled full-time in my community college to get the rest of my general education requirements out of the way and I’m also working full time. Will I have a terribly hard time getting another university/college to accept me as a transfer for this? Could the vyvanse charge be overlooked if I have a prescription and it was only added because the pills were not in the proper prescription bottle at the time? Will writing a letter explaining the situation to the college I want to transfer to, going through a substance abuse program and offering to take drug tests/entering school on probation help me out at all? Also I have a 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale if that matters.
No way to know.
