Suspension record...

Well okay, so I have a suspension record...

I wrote something like death note in grade 9 and I was suspended for 2-3 days or so.

So... will it affect my admission? I really hope it doesn't, but since there's a checkbox asking for suspension/expulsion record, I'm thinking that it counts.

Please please please help me :'(

a death note eh.
Did you write why you were suspended or just said your suspended.
You should be flat out honest.
Don’t schools send records?

Someone from my school stole a kid’s PSP and received OSS sophomore year. He was recently admitted early to Yale.

Indicate on your application that you received the suspension, but address the reasoning in an essay or in the additional info section – see if you can spin it positively, like, that was then, this is now. I feel like there has to be an interesting story there, lol… Best of luck!

Thanks, guys! I was worrying about this so much and I thought it’d just kill my admission! Now I feel a bit more relieved .phew

As stated, it was 9th grade. I am pretty sure you have changed quite a bit since then, a fact colleges, after years and years of admissions, know well.

My son was suspended in 11th grade for one day so I had him write an essay on the errors of his ways. He gave it to the Principal. This year he has been accepted into three schools- granted they are not HYP, but it wasn’t a deal breaker either. Just be honest and you should be fine.

Yeah, I think that because it was so long ago, it won’t have much weight. Good luck! And stay out of trouble :P

Thank you all - and yeah, I’m a goodie goodie now :P
