Thank you PS and good luck to you! We are very nervous at our house too. Know that you are not alone!

Rest assured, that having gone through this before, we totally understand your state of anxiety and are keeping all of you in our thoughts.

I am sending each and everyone of you, who are nervously waiting for the mail this week, a huge virtual hug and a basket full of positive thoughts and well-wishes!

As one of the ED-ers last year, I wish you guys oodles of good luck. :)

If I live in upper New Jersey, when do you think I will get the letter from Swarthmore? I was thinking sometime between Thursday and Saturday. Does that sound right?

Thanks, CollegeDad, Dramatica, and Bubblysoprano!

Ok, so anyone who has applied ED, I just want to wish you good luck as the letters were mailed today. A Swattie - doesn't that sound wonderful!

Collegedad, how do you know they mailed them out today?

I just spoke with the admissions office (9:05 a.m. 12/11) and asked whether the post that they were mailed yesterday was true. I was told it was not , but they ARE being mailed today! There will NOT be any e-mail notification.

Sorry, I thought that with 15th being the notification day, I just worked backwards on when they would be mailed so that the West Coast would know by the 15th.

Ahh, the waiting is killing me! How long does it take to get a letter from PA to western NY? Not that I'm insane or anything.

I'd say latest Saturday, hopefully tomorrow. I wish you luck!

When does Swarthmore mail it? If they mailed it this morning, then you'll probably get it tomorrow, but if they mail it at like 5 PM, then you probably won't. Also, it's a busy time of year for mail, with Christmas and all. I live in upper new jersey. does anyone else have any guesses for when it will come?

Haha, I'd be cool waiting until Saturday. It's just a strange feeling knowing that it's on its way! I think I'll be twitching all the way through school tomorrow.

My son was an ED'er in the NYC metro area, and decisions mailed on Thursday were received here on Saturday. Good luck to all! It's a great school! But, you already knew that. ;)

mY CHILD ISN'T HOME YET AND I CAN'T TELL!!!

The letter is postmarked December 10.

I recommend the desk lamp approach. :D If that feels immoral to you, you can squeeze it - on the theory that one kind has only the single sheet; one kind has a reply envelope. Or of course, you could just set it on the counter and wait. . . .

Good luck to all!

Desk lamp not working, will have to wait!!! It does seem to have more than one piece of paper. Waiting...........

I got in!!! :)

Oh my gosh! I did not think it was physically possible for a letter to get all the way to California this fast! But it is! I was talking to my mom about how hard it's going to be to wait until Monday, and then she went out and got the mail, and it was there!!!!! (it was postmarked on the 10th, too)

And I got in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy and excited!

Congratulations, Superlax, and good luck to everyone who hasn't gotten their letters yet!
