leggomyeggo.....California schools tend to have top swim teams...umm if youre asking would a 23.5 and 52.9 be good enough for those schools-No, BUT, if you go those times im sure theyd give you time to try out and keep you on for a while, and see if you can bring them down...there good times but i say there not good enough becuase you mentioned Top swim teams there, and you would need 21 and 49 minimum...but a 23.5 is good enough for D3, so is a 52

Kebree, did your sister go to the Olympic Trials? Those times are blazing!

leggomyeggo, one of my friends is being recruited at UCSB. I don't know about walk-ons, but he isn't (yet) quite fast enough for a scholarship. He has a 21.4 in his 50 and a 46.9 in the 100 free, and I think a 1:43 in the 200. He's one of my rivals (in fly), which is why I know his times.

-Joel

one of my friends couldnt handle the Upenn practice and he went 45:70 for 100 free and 20:something for 50 free. He also went a 50:something for 100 fly, Hes a great swimmer, all american but couldnt handle the practice...taht says something-and california schools are up there w/ ivy league

Wow. :|

Yes...500 views..keep it up, big meet today!

JLO - the answer to ur question is yes haha

lock - thats cuz if he is like a lot of sprinters, they cant take distance. one of my best friend girls go a 48 in her 100 free and a 20 in her 50 free which is one of the top times in the country for girls of her age but she cannot hold those times and when doing say 10X400s at practice completely dies. The practices arent all THAT difficult, it just depends on what ur endurance is. she can go a 48 in her 100 free the first time bu then second time is like a 51 then it drops to a 1:05

i never said no to Jlo, those are amzing times and of course they are good enough for ANY college in the world...but hes gotta make a comittment bc he wont be one of the faster swimmers on the team, hed probably be the top walk-on though...i think those times are worthy of a scholarship to almost any school that needs a swimmer, but swimming scholarships are kinda rare so it makes them very hard to get..but yeah what you said is absolutely right-some sprinters cant get throught practice but are still great sprinters

500 Free - 7:13

I was soo happy that day because it was over 15 sec. of improvement off the previous best =D.

What is a "walk on?"

yes, atreeyum, the 500 free is one of the easiest events to shave seconds off...my friend lost 40 secs once...just keep working hard and youll be down to the 6 minute range very soon

Tookie-walk ons are infamous..a walk on is an athlete who did not get a scholarship to compete in a sport at their particular school..so, they go to try out and still make the team despite not getting a scholarship...people love walk ons b/c their success stories....

sweet..im gonna go a 50 flat for 100 free ooooohh yea
