Switching from Letters and Science to Engineering?

When I applied, I didn't know much about what I wanted to do after college, but I knew that I loved math and physics, so naturally that is what I put for my majors. However, now that I talk to people with similar interests, I realize that engineering is probably the way to go. Is there anyway I can switch to the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science from the Letters and Science before I start? If not, is it difficult to get switch over after I start taking classes? Thanks for any suggestions.

Oh and I am also a Regent Scholar; I don't know if that makes any difference.

I've done a lot of research on this. You have to take required classes (look at the page for the major you want to apply to), and apply to the engineering school. Apparently most people are declined, as you'll need a high GPA in order to transfer.

it is very difficult, as in near impossible, to switch into engineering. And you can't just call and switch; you have to take prereqs (math, physics, etc) and then apply. You can read all about it on the engineering website.
