Switching Majors

<p>Yeah I know it must be bad to want to change your major already...before Fall 08 even begins...</p>

<p>But let's say hypothetically I wanted to change my major now would I even be able to or would I have to go through internal transfer? I technically have the pre-reqs for both majors practically done (29 credits through community college so I wouldn't be considered a transfer when I applied for admission).</p>

<p>I just don't know whether or not I should go ahead and try to switch now, or play out the first semester? Especially since they are practically opposite majors (from Nursing to Communications-RTF)...?</p>

<p>It would not be internal transfer. You could ask an advisor. But I believe that you would have to go through admission once again, and as it is past Feburary 1 you can't.</p>

<p>I would ask an advisor in the college you want to transfer in to before Orientation.</p>

<p>On a side note, at Explore UT the Comm people said that they did not allow those who had been accepted to change into Comm, you would have to wait to do an internal transfer after your frosh year. But I don't know if that is accurate because it was students and not admissions reps.</p>
