Taft Are Over Enrolled...Uh Oh

I’m pulling a Bill Clinton…I’m “giving as good as I get.” To me that’s the only way to stop bullying. I’m not someone to start anything. And I wish not to be picked on.

But really, unless you’re an adcom yourself, I don’t find you any more qualified with your opinions than the next guy or gal.

What basis?! Because Exie actually attended boarding school, unlike the majority of parents on this board! As such, she has an insider’s take on the whole experience. And, as much as parents on CC are intelligent and can theorize impressively, that is not really comparable to the actual experience.

Come come, pulsar, surely you can appreciate that much!

(2010 hopeful - I only attacked the statement, not the person making it. That is not a too subtle distinction.)

The thread is prep school admissions, not prep school attendance. And unless you’ve actually applied and been admitted in the last year, the experience of simply attending a prep school many moons ago is not more relevant than any other parent’s experience with a child who has applied or is applying.

I don’t like the sanctimonious posts of some.

Exie attended BS probably before the internet, at least long before the ipod generation. Things have changed a lot since then. Also, parents are posting their kids current experience with BS. What inside knowledge do you think Exie has that you don’t know about? Unless you are a current adcom yourself, no one will know any better about the admissions blackbox.

My, my, aren’t we pushy and presumptuous.

Furthermore, there has been quite a bit of speculation regarding the ‘quality’ of some schools here, like Taft, so it isn’t just about “admissions”. Please.

So how will someone who attended BS ages ago know about the quality of the schools now?

To think that we older people who pay the tuition’s and support Annual Funds and Special Projects ie. internet access to say the least and not know what we pay for much less understand why we pay is naive. Take heed to D’yer Maker’s thread “If you’re new to CC, please read this before posting”. It is a small world and an extremely smaller boarding school world. It’s a fraternity for life, where we congregate on a regular basis throughout each year and for the rest of our lives.

Well said Ops and Leanid. Well said!

(For the record I didn’t reveal all of the data about my D’s admission stats. Didn’t want her sabotaged before she picked a choice. And your rants here confirm why that was a good idea).

What else are you hiding from CC? Sounds like a KG excuse. Which HADES school is your d admitted to that you rejected? It sounds kinda silly to post some acceptances and not others. How posting one school your d is admitted and not posting the other school benefit you or your d? It would have given more credit to your d if we knew that she is accepted at more than one school. It doesn’t make any sense. If you hide everything makes some sense as you may not want to disclose anything. From now on whatever you post, we will never know what other information you may be hiding. Sometimes covering up the tracks may be more difficult. :D

Pulsar that is really hypocritical. Whenever someone asks you a question about your boarding school status or if you are a parent / student, you never answer them.

At least Exie gave us some of the truth, you give us nothing.

2010 hopeful, Precisely, people may choose to share information or not share. If I were the parent of a d who got into a HADES school, I would have been proud to announce it, as opposed to announcing only that my d got into a lower tier school. Go figure.

Pulsar, one comment and one consolation:

You need someone to clean your clock.

Life will strip off your bark soon enough.

I cannot get over how childish and rude you are.

excuse me? Exie and others are the ones going after RBGG while posting wrong info and acting like authorities on the subject. Parlabane, live with it, get used to it, or else go fly a kite. You may also need a tune up.

I stand by my comments. You are a rude child.

Taft seems like an outstanding school. They seem to have the best balance of academic excellence along with great community spirit.

As amusing as this is, why are the grownups feeding the ■■■■■? You must realize that you are responding to a 15 year old who has clue zero.

Pulsar makes a lot more sense than many on CC. Aside I think we read Exie’s daughter got into 2 schools, Governor’s and Taft. Later she tried to say her child got waitlisted at Andover. I don’t think there’s any other info to share.

Warning to those new to these boards. RGB2 has posted as both a psychiatrist, as well as a boy AND a girl desperate to know the secret of getting into boarding school under another name “Scholwannabe.” Theoretically there’s a “home account” and an “office account.” He/she has been outed more than once by more than one person on this board.

You’ll notice a change in the tone and tempo of his/her vernacular on some posts. Sometimes youthful and street, sometimes older and cranky.

We’ve hear the whining about not getting a first choice, and the kvetching about paying $50,000 and not thinking it’s worth it.

Either way - he/she’s a ■■■■■ with little useful first hand information and next to no specific details - just generalities and a desperate need for validation.

Since enough parents (and a few students) on this board know who I am in my real life, they’ve validated my experiences to RBG2’s dismay.

Caveat emptor if you’re trying to get “real” information from RBG2 or Pulsar. But their postings are fascinating reads of fiction…

Oops, Fun is Fun.

You’re right. We are feeding ■■■■■■. Will take that to heart and answer only valid posters.
