TAG Help / Understanding

Hello everybody, I plan on doing the TAG next year in Biological Science for UC DAVIS but I have 100 semester units and it says on the TAG criteria that:

“provided the student (after applying UC lower-division unit limitations and
exclusions) does not reach or exceed 80 semester (120 quarter) transferable units of
college coursework.”

Does this mean that the TAG can’t get approved?

Thank you in advance for your help!

As long as they are CCC units, or lower division from another college, only 70 units will transfer. Any number over that is irrelevant. In other words, your 100 will just stop at 70. The only time you get into trouble is if you have upper division courses (junior/senior level) from a 4-year college. Those get added to the 70 (or less) total lower division units, and that’s where you can get up and over 80. (It can also happen if you were previously at a UC, but that’s another story.)

Do you have to have a certain GPA in order to apply for TAG?

And will you be guaranteed to get into the UC?

@soojin1 Here is the TAG matrix for 2016-17 for all 6 campuses, which should tell you all you need to know:

And yes, as long as you fulfill the requirements set out by TAG, you’re guaranteed admission.
