So I'm finishing up my first year at a CCC, with around a 3.3 GPA. I was wondering about tag, I meet all the qualification except the math, as I haven't taken my math class yet. I was wondering if I needed to complete my math class before fall applications? Which means I would have to take it in summer?

The tag form I'm looking at is old, so I'm slightly confused...

You don’t have to complete all your requirements by application time, but you must by the semester before your transferring out (so by your last spring semester). It is best to finish math ASAP though. Try taking your math course this fall or winter to avoid complications.

For TAG, just do the IGETC, finish your pre-reqs, and maintain a 3.0 by the end of your last spring semester. All you do is check a box when you apply that says you will be TAG certified (no papers, no signing, no strings attached) and you’ll be set.

Well, that’s horrible news. I’m 99% sure I won’t be able to get a math class this summer because of class limitations. Do I have any other options besides doing the regular application?

I guess I don’t qualify for UCD tag anymore?

“1) To qualify for a TAG for fall 2010, the following specific required courses must be completed by the end of spring
2010:
Those required for UC eligibility (such as English and mathematics)
Those required for admission into selective UC Davis majors (such as calculus for the Biological Sciences
major)
Those required to complete 60 UC transferable semester (90 quarter) units”

Look for online math classes? At other CCC’s? Try emailing the math professors of math classes you are trying to add, explaining your situation?

Ya, probably going to be tough considering how fast classes and wait lists fill up… But it’s worth a shot!
