I am planning on submitting an application for TAG. I am in a community college and my total units by Spring 2018 will be 89, but those include 19 non transferable courses. Will my TAG be rejected because it exceeds 89 units? Also I have not taken any exams, are exams extremely necessary ?
As long as you have a minimum 60 semester/90 quarter units that are UC transferable by Spring 2018, meet the TAG required GPA and pre-req/major prep courses, you should be fine.
Students will be granted up to 70 sem/105 qtr units of credit for lower division coursework completed at any institution or any combination of institutions. For units beyond the maximum, subject credit for appropriate coursework taken in excess of this unit limitation will be granted and may be used to satisfy requirements.

Hi! Thanks for replying! I submitted my TAG yesterday. Also do you know if having too many W’s is a reason to have my TAG rejected? I have a 3.56 gpa and my major is English.
The SAT exam, would I need to take it? Or not? Since I am a transfer student going in as a junior.

I also realized that I will have 64 units by the end of Spring and not 89! I was counting the nonteansferable ones before! I am taking a math class right now, on the contract it says I need to finish it by the end of this semester. How ever, I dropped this course twice before. These are the W’s I am talking about. I also dropped an astronomy course that I realized I did not need.
Also I did not write any additional comments concerning those W’s. Should I withdraw and update??

My understanding is that the UC’s do not care about the W’s on your transcript. As long as you meet all the TAG requirements, finish the Math class this semester, you should be fine.

@Gumbymom hi! Sorry to bother but would you know if the SAT’s are required for admission at UCR as a transfer student. I just realized I asked you before but I don’t think you saw it. I’ve been researching and I can’t find if it is really mandatory or not. But the applications ask for ACT and SAT scores. Thank you!
No test scores are used in transfer admission decisions.
I should clarify that for TAG applicants, test scores are not required or considered. In rare cases, some of the UC’s accept Sophomore level transfers where their HS record and test scores would be required. Since you are TAGing, these are not necessary.
