Take Orgo Lab (I & II) AFTER ORGO lecture (I & II)

DEAR All

i took orgo S1 -in fall 2006

I am currently taking orgo Lecture This spring 07

What disADVANTAGES ARE There FOR TAKING orgo lab I & II next year?

Will I be having difficultities....or lab is independant of lecture

best regards..a

depends on the school. at mine students are recommended not to take the lab (which is the lab component for both orgo I and II as a single class) until after they have completed both semesters of lecture, though you are allowed to take it simultaneously with orgo II. If the labs are seperate classes, taking both at once may just be a pain as far as scheduling is concerned, but as far as putting them off content-wise, I don't think you'd have a problem.

I meant to say

I took ORGO I In Fall 06
I am taking ORGO II THIS SPring 07

Can I take Lab I , and II the next two semesters respectivly?

or it will be hard b.c I Need to know the material Im learning now in orgo class II?

THANKS

I think it's probably doable, but you'll have to put in a lot of extra time outside of class to learn more about reactions and processes that you haven't covered in lecture yet. I had lab last spring with several students who were concurrently enrolled in orgo I, and they ended up struggling and copying a lot of labbooks because they honestly didn't know what was going on, especially as the quarter went on and the lab reactions got more complicated.
