Well, I'm a junior and I was wondering whether I should take the SATs in both December and May. I know that a lot of my senior friends took the SATs in May and they didn't do so well, so.............have any advice?

anyone? i just wanted a nod in the right direction.

i'd recommend taking it both times. for whatever that's worth.

I'm a senior now and I wish I had taken it in December of my junior year.

why December specifically? why not October, november, january, february, march, april, june?

i think for a junior, october and novmeber may be a little too early since they're taken, or have just barely taken the psat, and then if they do badly in december they can have plenty of time to retake it and take and retake subject tests if they need to.

thanks everyone!
and jfs4691: gub stole the words right out of my mouth.

hey guys this is gr8 advice indeed. so sats once in dec and then in may ...a good combination?

Can anyone recommend the best book for writing the SAT?
i have already started on the Barron's but find that the English sections don't cover much... except for the practice drills.
And what sort of a timetable is best to be followed?

i heard the official guide from collegeboard is good. What does everyone else think?

anyone else have an opinion?
