I will be taking English 1C and History 122. Both are great professors. Will it be possible to pull off an A in both classes if I don't have to work?

I took 9 units of online classes over summer (Two English one Psychology) and got an A in all of them. As long as they are all easy 3 unit classes they are generally pretty easy to get in A in, and a good professor makes it even easier! I’d say go for it, you’ll be happy that you didn’t waste your winter and actually got things done. And the extra few As feel good and raise your GPA slightly!
Go for it, and GOOD LUCK!

Only you can know whether or not you are capable of six units during winter session. But, I guess anyone can do it if they try hard enough. It isn’t impossible.

And what do you mean, not work? as in putting little effort into those courses? In that case, you probably shouldn’t take both since they require a lot of reading and writing.

I meant not working a job over the winter :)

You should consult ratemyprofessors for this one. No one on these boards can tell you how difficult it will be unless they’ve had the same teachers.

The workload my not be too bad, but the issue of timing and scheduling may be a problem. I couldn’t imagine sitting through two three-hour classes five days a week. I did take two classes over the summer, but we were always let out early in one of them.

It is quite possible. Doesn’t hurt to try. Drop one after the first week if you feel it is not going to work for you.

Depending on what type of student you are this is a pretty easy schedule. Should be no problem at all.

I have taken 8 units in summer and 9 units in winter. Neither of these were that bad.

I took 7 units ( 4 unit Statistics/ 3 unit English 103) and I got a B and A, respectively. It was a juggling act with a job but I made it happen. It’s so fast you are over before you know it.

My biggest advice is for you to register for the classes, check out the syllabus and get a taste of the workload and if you still decide you can’t do it, then drop one class. All you can do is try! I didn’t think 18 units this semester with a 4.0 was possible with work and other things, but it looks like it’s working out. I say just go for it because otherwise you would never know. Good luck!!!
