I’m really good with math in general, I’ve been getting 100% in all my classes including math currently my freshman year and I’m honestly bored and need more coursework. Do you think it’s plausible to take Geometry in school and then Algebra 2 and Pre Calc honor at the same time online? I have 2 classes in school right now where I am doing nothing.
I wouldn’t. If you’re really so bored, then keep working hard and go beyond what you learn in class. Impress your teachers. Find an extracurricular to participate in. Pursue something you’re passionate about.
Las year, I had a class where I did nothing at all during the whole year. Seriously, I had a whole period where I sat in front of a computer and did nothing. So, I started teaching myself Java programming. I’m quite good now. You don’t need to take extra courses. I think 3 math classes at a time is extreme overload.
Well, I can understand from that aspect but the thing is I actually have no class those 2 periods, I’m off campus. It’s my first 2 periods each day on a block schedule, I was thinking of starting algebra 2 a week before pre calc so I can do pre calc based off of alg 2 since the people who took it with FLVS, where I am taking it, told me it’s almost the same.
Oh, I didn’t realize you actually have no classes. I would wait to take precalc until after alg 2. Maybe take alg 2 online this year, then precalc in school next year. Precalc is a lot of advanced algebra 2 plus trig mixed in there. You need a strong foundation in algebra 2 to do well in it, then a strong foundation in alg 2 + precalc to do well in Calc.
Summarize: just take alg 2 if you feel you must take a math class online.
Yea, do at least a semester Algebra 2 first, then Pre-Calc… if you’re good at understanding math concepts quickly you should be fine. I took Algebra 2 and precalc online in 2 different years and I’m doing excellent in multivariable calc right now if a success story helps.
