taking 6 AP's is worse than 4 AP's?

wait..how do UC's look at GPA? As I was calculating my GPA using the UC standards I realized a weird unfortunate incident. A person who takes minimal classes and 4 AP's has a better GPA than a person who takes maximal AP's but more classes and both of them getting A's. For example, a person taking 6 AP classes but 10 classes total will get a gpa of 4.4 while a person only taking 4 AP classes and 8 classes total will get a gpa of 4.5. Please someone tell me what I'm doing is wrong because it seems very awkward to me. I believe the UC weighting system is only weighing 8 semesters of AP classes/honors.
