Due to the fact that I transferred late during the summer, I was not able to take any of the rigorous courses during my Sophomore year. (Not even honors) Even in my Junior year I was only able to sign up for 2 APs since ironically, my parents pressured me into taking Physical Science instead of Biology in my freshman year since it was “an important class” despite me having stellar grades in middle school.
So I was thinking if there’s any way to increase the rigor of my current courseload to compensate for the wasted 2 years of high school. I had 4.0 UW GPA throughout high school, but I heard rigor is much more important than the GPA.
Would local community colleges offer AP courses for high school students for the summer? Would taking an online AP class go on the transcript?
Taking plain ol’ community college classes would look better than AP classes on an application. I think you’ll be okay if you do that!
AP courses are HS courses. As stated in the above post, take some community college courses for extra rigor but make sure they are transferable to any 4 year university you plan to apply.
I don’t mind not getting college credit for the college level courses I take as long as it qualifies as “rigor” on my transcripts.
Would the letter grades even show up on my transcripts? Do online college courses count as “rigor”?

If you take online or college courses, you would need to send transcripts with each along with your HS transcripts to all colleges when applying. If your HS offers Duel Enrollment college courses, then these grades may show up on your HS transcripts but depends upon your HS’s policy. Talk with your counselor for specific details.
Yes, you can take dual enrollment at your local CC. Check with your GC if they will go on your HS transcript.
