taking away admission for final grades

what are the odds that big state schools (Maryland in specific) will take away acceptance or honors programs or scholorship aid from somone if thier senior year grades slip a little? im in AP chem and AP calc, and have gotten high B’s to low A’s in both all year so far, but i know my 3rd and 4th quarter gardes are going to be so much worse because the material is getting a lot harder and im starting not to understand what’s going on. do u think this will effect me negatively if its big state schools that are from what i hear more number (gpa and SAt) driven? thanks.

State scores (large universities are GAP/SAT driven for admissions purposes.

But you are giving the scenario as to once happens once you have been admitted into a honors program or receive some type of schjolarchip based on merit.

Remember that all admissions are contigent usually upon sucessful completion of H.S. at the level of performance which you were accepted into college with.

Since you qualify for Honors programs and Merit aid are based on specific GPA requirements, should your final grades fall below the GPA that qualified you dor admissions the honors program or for merit scholarhsip you could very well lose those perks.

what if i still stay above it because of my other classes being so high (like english and psych and physics), but say the AP chem grade drops from the 94 its been first half to around an 74-80ish? do u think one grade drop to a C would effect me much? especially fi all my other grades remain so high? thanks.

I don't think a C would cancel your admission. That said, if you could pull off a B-, you won't have to worry at all. Generally, if they see a D or an F, that's when they start to think about revoking admission. But for a C, you should be fine.

While a slide may not affect your admissions in the college. However, your admissions to the honors college or merit money -based on grades or overall GPA can be rescindedshould you fall into a ranges that puts you in a position where you no longer qualify. If you slide in to the 70's maybe you'll have a few 99's to take up the slack (it depends)

this one girl at my school got accepted early action to Stanford and they withdrew their offer cuz she stopped trying in school and went from A's to C's. sux for her. this was like 3 years ago. she ended up goin to harvey mudd

what about 2 B's and 3 C;s...after 1st semester (4/5 classes are AP)...will i get revoked from michigan or UIUC ...IM SCARED!!!!!!!!!!....please help...and i plan to raise the C's but my school automatically sends midyear reports to every college no matter what...so UIUC AND U MICH willget them....what should i do????? is there cause for concern

PLEASE ........Help

colleges arent stupid, if you get bad grades in ap classes(C's) they wont revoke your admission becuase they know they are diffficult, as said above just dont get D's,you should get revoked lock dont worry, just dont slip

well.****, i got one D....but i had a death in the family actually...lots of stuff is going on...my life isnt so great right now so i cant concentrate real well...but im getting back on track now....so i got a D in Ap calc bc,... and this is UMichigan were talking about...a top college....would they revoke after seeing midyear grades or would they give me a chance to raise it during next semester??

What if my Rank drop.. to like 7 from 5 (out of 594)? the school is so competetive that I only got one A minus, and my rank is already slipping..

How would u deal with this?: Worst case scenario, my final grades suck.. and the school that i hve said i will attend in may revokes my admission. at this point, all of my other apps have been withdrawn.. how do i deal with this if it happens?

Someone Please Help Meee

I am sure they would give you a chance to raise your grade for the next semester. You will also be given a chance to explain what happened. You might contact admissions right now and tell them what is going on in your life and discuss the change in your grades.

i spoke to them,,,they said they only look at final grades...wow, time to start busting my ass

It appears that your school ranks? If so, when your final grades are sent in, will your GC be willing to state that your rank is 7/594 (which btw is no less amazing than 5/594). As long as you are in the same ballpark, as compared to the rest of the students, I would think it should be okay.
