taking classes at another UC?

Hello all,

I currently am going to ucla and commute all the way from irvine. i was wondering if it were possible to take classes at irvine as a full time student during spring quarter (my last quarter)?

"Thirty-five of the final 45 units completed for the bachelor's degree must be earned in residence in the College. A minimum of 24 upper division units must be completed in the major while in residence in the College. The academic residence requirements apply to all students, both continuing and transfer."

UCLA General Catalog 2007-08: COLLEGE OF LETTERS AND SCIENCE

this is for letters and science- just look at your specific college's page for the same thing, if you're not LS.

you're commuting from irvine to LA!?

If im understanding this correctly 35 of the last 45 units would be a student's senior year??

isnt there some concurrent enrollment ban and would uci even allow you to do that to begin with? if they did, whats to stop current community college students from taking courses full time at uci even if they were rejected to begin with? why even bother having admissions or applications?

i live in irvine..and the drive is only 40 minutes with no traffic...

and actually you do save a LOT of money (and i mean a lot) if you commute instead of paying for dorms...cuz i know someone who did that for all 4 years (it takes a lot of dedication) and he ended up saving tens of thousands of dollars
