As per title, I'm taking a night course at my local community college this summer, 8:00-10:00 p.m. I live in a city, I'm gonna have to do a lot of walking alone to get from the building to the car, etc. so I guess I'm a little nervous.

Anyone done something like this/suggestions?

Take that course with a friend or two.
& purchase some pepper spray.
I personally would never take a class that LATE; my brain works better in the morning.

I’ll be taking a night course this summer too, mine is from 6-9pm. I agree with the buying pepper spray thing. Try to park under street lights and not too far away from the buildings. Also, I know at night when I’m alone, I just call random friends/family and talk to them until I’m safe (in my car) so that someone will know right away if something is up.

Make a friend in class and ask where they usually park so you two can walk out after class together. They might be nervous walking alone also and will welcome the company. Or call campus security and they can escort you to your car.

One day one night Saturday’s alright, online’s just fine…

Almost same situation, don’t have a ride and can’t drive. Morning classes 4 days a week, I have to take the bus at 6:30 in the morning (only fitting time) for my 7:30 am class. Night classes 3 times a week from 8-10pm, bus there and back. Never actually tried public transit, but it should be safe enough in my case-- I live in the suburbs.

For you, I suggest purchasing some pepper spray as some have already suggested. I wouldn’t worry too much about it though, just don’t walk around in alleyways during the night. :P
