Taking my boyfriend home. Any tips?

she called me out :D

what school do i go to? i'm in high school....

yo sheed what do you think of gay people

VVV not explicitly in this thread, and i'm not going to hunt down his other posts.

^didn't he already make that very clear?

hhaa...i should probably shut up soon.....before i get alienated on this site....jack if you read...

mixed couples - If you're not straight, i dont like you.

by mixed i meant mixed race. but yeah. well sheed you're interesting.

so you are you kind of a muslim's response to an evangelical christian? :D

I believe he is. Damn fanatics.

o mixed race couples...im definitely fine with that, theres nothing wrong with that..

so you are you kind of a muslim's response to an evangelical christian? not at all, not at all...hahahahaaa

I'm just a regular muslim.....I follow my religion like it was taught and do nothing more, and try to do nothing less..

do you consider yourself prejudiced?

Why are you all grilling Sheed? He merely expressed his opinion. Get over it.

Thanks rocker! :D

I'll answer that final question.

do you consider yourself prejudiced? I try my best not to be, but I'm sure I am....

grilling him? gosh i just want to learn more. i just want to know how he sees himself... i think it's interesting... i don't necessarily disagree with him

Sheed, why are you applying to universities that have policies against gay intolerance? You are certainly not welcome at these universities. If these schools found out, I'm sure you will be denied immediately. So you're waitlisted at WashU... let's see what else happens.

sanjenferrer, the first thing you need to do is ask your parents if it is ok if you bring him. I'd try to make it a shorter visit (like for a meal or 45 minutes at the most) because long visits can be super awkward. Just make sure that everyone is comfortable. Your parents may not be ready for you to bring someone home. The only way I'd bring someone home is if I am serious about them and have been together for quite some time.

That's not really true. No school has a policy against holding any particular opinion - that's the point of intellectual freedom.

If he acts on it in any way, or makes others feel uncomfortable/unwelcome by broadcasting his thoughts, then he's crossed the line into punishable intolerance.

Lol you liar, you don't have an interest in learning more.. you're convinced he's a homophobe and now you just want to provoke him to say something hateful so that you can point your finger. Lots of people today are uncomfortable with homosexuality. Not everybody is ready to march out into the street with a rainbow flag. Stop being judgmental.

Untrue... get over yourself and stop telling other people where they are and are not welcome. Until you are in admissions at a university, please keep your speculations to yourself.

Jack, the schools on his list do discourage racist, xenophobic, and sexist thoughts and behaviors. Homophobia is not excluded from this list. They might not have a policy against thoughts but certainly against certain actions. In any case, he is still not welcome on these campuses. Stanford, Yale, Chicago, Northwestern, WUSTL, Duke? No way.

But this is no secret... universities want to promote a non-sexist, homophobic, racist student body. For example, if you are racist, why would you apply to these universities unless you have the intention of being enlightened? There is no room for you in the top schools.

hm interesting interpretation..

well actually not really. i mean, you assume that i want to come to some sort of conclusion and rule out the possibility that i'm just curious. i've never really met anyone like sheed, so i'm interested to hear his viewpoints. specifically i'm curious about how HE sees his viewpoints and what his intentions are, since i live in a very liberal area and most the people here would immediate ostracize him for expressing certain views -.- honestly i've never met a person who wasn't accepting of gay people.. i'm very sheltered that way i guess.

certainly it's kind of a leap in logic to tell me i'm "judging" him, and that the reason i'm judging him is because he's not actively promoting gay rights (waving rainbow flags in the streets) ;)

BS. You must come from an extreme muslim background, because I come from a muslim background and your views are definitely borderline extreme.

^ i have friends who are "regular muslims" and friends who are gay they are friends with each other, so .. yeah i agree.
