Taking Pre-Cal over summer?

Currently I'm taking Alg II for my junior year, because I was stupid in 7th grade and didn't take math honors. Since I want to major in most likely physics, if I want to go to a prestigious school, I think it's necessary that I take Calculus and AP Physics, for which I must either be enrolled or have finished Calculus. So, if I want to have those classes in my senior schedule, my only options are to take Pre-Cal over the summer at my local college, at another high school, or through correspondence online. However, I'm worried that I'll do poorly on the assessment test I'll have to take after the summer course, which gives me my grade for pre-cal... it's even worse than a final because you can't cushion it with a good semester grade... and I have a 4.0, and really don't want to screw it up.

Is this feasible? Has anyone ever done this before?

It's definitely feasible and I strongly recommend it. I think it's worth the risk because even if you get a C or a B it will show initiative and motivation.

Would you rather have a 4.0 or a transcript with a more rigorous courseload?
