I've been taking PreCalc outside of school and am going to take Calculus starting tomorrow. My first semester of PreCalc I got an A, but this semester I completely bombed a test in conic sections (which was SUPER easy for me in Algebra 2 so don't ask me why I bombed it....), and now I have an 89.9%. My teacher won't round up. I know that Rice strongly values math, so what do I do? :/

Don’t worry about it. I’m almost entirely certain that a 89.9% vs a 90% (which is, admittedly, probably quite frustrating) is not going to make a huge impact on your admissions chances.

Trust me, I know from experience how incredibly frustrating 0.1% can be. But ultimately, the likelihood of one notch of a letter grade having any impact whatsoever on your application anywhere is slim to none.
