Taking SATii's in May as opposed to June

I already signed up for three SATii's on May, but can somebody assess the prudence of that decision?

I sort of debated it out in my head and concluded that May would be the best time to take it, since it would be right before the AP tests. Each of my subject tests corresponds with one of my AP classes (except math), so I thought that studying for the SATii's would be the equivalent of preparing for the APs. Does that make sense?

I also signed up for the June SAT to improve my grade. My grades for the Jan SAT were CR750, WR680, M710. Tips on how to improve?! I got an 8 on the essay. I knew it wasn't the best thing I've ever written, but an 8 seemed a little harsh.

I’m also thinking of taking SAT Bio-M and SAT Math I. I haven’t registered yet. Any advice on if I should take them in May or June. Also, is taking SAT Math I necessary, if I’m going to take Math II next year (after taking Pre-Calc). Should I just focus on Biology, instead.

Many people take the SAT IIs right before APs, because like you realized, studying at that time benefits both tests. To improve your essay, read this:

Don’t take both SAT II Math Level I and Level II. It’s pointless, as many schools will only count one math subject test. I strongly recommend taking Level II, as its curve is much more generous, and its material is more advanced than Level I. Also, as a freshman, you might want to wait to take subject tests.
