I am a rising sophmore (going into my sophmore year). I have an ok SAT score but bad subject test scores and I have been leaning towards taking the ACT since I want to transfer as a junior. My question is, will colleges still consider it if I take it, let's say in September of my sophmore year (most transfers retake SAT's during freshman year I believe)

bump......

I don't think that's a problem at all. Which schools are you applying to?

top schools pretty much- some ivies, duke, etc. (yes I know the % rates)

Whether you take it in your freshman or sophomore year is irrelevant. As long as the college states they accept test scores received in college, you're fine.

FYI, I took my final ACT at the very beginning of my sophomore year.

You bring up a good point brand.

Do you know if most of the top colleges accept scores from college? (I hope so =\ ). Is my question too general?

just tell us which schools specifically you're applying to..

Well I figured if I did that, then people would just say " go research for yourself" or something.

This is not my final list (still have to condense it and add safeties):
Harvard
Yale
Dartmouth
Penn
Duke
Williams
Amherst
WashU
Boston College

Don't mean to hijack this thread but:

-Let's say one had poor SAT scores in high school, and a university he/she wants to attend accepts scores received in college. Could that person just send the ACT he took in college and not send any of his SAT scores?

When you apply and send your test scores, those scores are on file at the new college and will appear on your transcript. If, when applying, you only send in your college ACT and not your SAT, you'll be fine. If you've already been accepted to the school and had sent in your SAT earlier, you'll have to speak with the school itself.
