Hello all!
I’ve heard from multiple people that there is no disadvantage to taking the same SAT II exam multiple times because you only have to send one of your scores to colleges and they won’t know how many times you’ve taken it. Obviously, I don’t want to simply take this on face value-- especially because I don’t feel fully prepared for the coming SAT IIs and if this is not true, I would want to postpone it to june. Is this advice wrong?
Can I use score choice: http://professionals.collegeboard.com/testing/sat-reasoning/scores/policy to send only the exams I want? And can colleges see if I choose to do score choice?
It depends on where you are applying. Yale does not participate in score choice but I think it may be the only one or one of the only ones. http://admissions.yale.edu/standardized-testing Stanford does not participate in score choice for SAT and ACT but does for SAT subject tests. http://admission.stanford.edu/application/freshman/testing.html
So outside of Yale (and the few other schools that have no score choice), there’s no disincentive to taking the SAT IIs early even if I may not perform my best? Can colleges see how many times I’ve taken the exam?
