Taking the sat subject tests in october?

Hi, I'm a junior and I haven't taken any SAT Subject Tests yet, I just took the May SAT and AP exams. Today is the deadline for late registration for the June SAT, so I need an answer soon.

I haven't had much time to prepare for the Subject Tests because I've been so busy with the other exams, and I don't want to pay the late fee. I was thinking that instead, I could take them in October, which would give me more time to study. The only problem is I haven't gotten my SAT scores back so if I take the tests in October I'll miss out on the chance to retake the SAT. I feel pretty good about my scores (I did really well on the reading and writing sections of the PSAT and pretty good on the math, and I feel much more confident about my math score than before), but it seems kind of a risky gamble. On the other hand I'd hate to take the Subject Tests when I don't feel prepared. What should I do?

Since it’s the end of the academic year, I believe taking SAT IIs in June would be the logical choice as the subjects are still fresh and you won’t need much prep. This will leave the October test date open in case you wanted to re-take SAT I and also would allow you more time to improve your SAT I scores if needed.
