<p>i have to admit, while it was an impressive win for duke tonight, it was completely bogus.</p>

<p>coach K manages to get the refs to put 4.4 seconds on the clock - when the clemson coach couldn't get the refs to look at the tape to see that they didn't start the clock until well after duke turned over the ball on the last clemson possession...</p>

<p>As a Clemson fan,but also an admirer of Coach K and Duke basketball, I don't think there was an intentional "job" performed by the refs agaist Clemson. It is amazing that even with instant replay, the officials spotted Duke around 2 extra seconds beyond what they were entitled to.Coach Purnell should have been more involved with this, but was busy with the time out,trying to get ready to defend. Clemson may lose to Duke in Clemson 02/22, but Duke is not the team it has been,so maybe the Tigers will get them at home.
While this was a tough loss,this wasn't USA vs USSR in Munich '72.Both Coach K and Coach Purnell are class guys. If Clemson had to lose, and they still may have, if the game had gone into overtime, better to lose to Duke. They run a class program.</p>

<p>I agree. But Clemson is the second most hated team for me in the ACC (Go Gamecocks!).</p>

<p>bluedevil1027, I presume UNC is your most hated ACC team. Let me leave you with some numbers I like: 63-37-4. Spurrier will close the gap, as Bowden is clueless, but you will not live long enough to see the "Chickens" ahead in the football series. I know this isn't classy, but I feel the same way towards USC as you do about CU. The only difference is USC is my #1 detestable team en todo el mundo.This IS serious stuff here. I have it on good authority that Gamecock sports were such anathema to the Union that Reconstruction was carried out here in SC until 1876. Furthermore it led to the Feds deciding to despoil the Savannah River Valley with the production of our nuclear arsenal near Aiken. Talk about teen aged mutants!!
I AM truly saddened that Duke has seen fit to overlook your odious proclivities. I'm joking--well sort of!</p>
