Talk your way into getting a job w/o a college degree?

For the people who think college is a waste of time and money, is it possible for them (providing they're aggressive and smart enough) to get a quality or at least similar job? Excluding doctor, engineer, accountant, lawyer, and actuary, etc.

If you consider “winning the lottery” as “possible,” sure. Otherwise, no (unless you include successful self-employment as a quality job).

Nope. Most successful people who don’t have a college degree made that job for themselves (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc…)

Yes, there are good jobs that typically do not require a bachelor’s degree.

But almost all of them require some other type of education or self-education.

I am not against learning, far from it. I am a really, really fast learner. I don’t need to spend 4 years in what to me is a prison so I can get a piece of paper. I want to know how I can skip that bureaucracy and move on to the meat and cream and wanted to know if anyone knows how to do that.

^get your degree through an online program. Skip most of the bureaucracy, get the diploma, and you can work towards your goals meanwhile. College isn’t a prison - especially if you spend most of your time in extracurriculars, getting internships, independent studies, and establishing relationships with people (friends and teachers) that could help you get where you want to be in life.

You’re asking for a secret path to instant success… and if you find one, please let us know.

A college degree is a credential. If you choose not to get that credential, you’ll have to prove your abilities in some other way. That likely means starting at the very bottom and working your way up - all the while, competing against people who may be just as talented, just as experienced and who possess a degree too.
