Wow, you may be right. It specifically mentions a System School, 3.25. Heck, that’s a deal…if you’re okay with the disciplines offered.
Ok we have been researching but needed to confirm. Still waiting but wanted to know options. We are OOS so have to decide which PSA if decides yes.
Thank you!
Industrial Distribution is very popular, has great job opportunities & placements. We have many friends majoring in it. Actually surprised it is offered PSA.
The automatic PSA engineering admission is in line with current year ETAM admitted GPA. That’s why not all majors participate. So 2023-2024 can change. But once PSA is signed the automatic GPA is locked.
Thank you for all the help

I’ve been following for months and truly appreciate all we have learned here.
Our daughter was no doubt very sad yesterday to have been offered PSA. She was initially ok to do one year somewhere else and then transfer her sophomore year to CS.
However after four years of animal science courses in high school and doing a current internship of 300 hours at a vet hospital she just can’t wrap her head around choosing a different major. Her goal is vet school. Her cousin graduated in May from TAMU Vet School so she’s familiar with the rigor of what lies ahead.
We’ve tried to encourage her to keep her dream and accept at TX State which has Animal Science and try to transfer. I know the rules that you can’t switch majors but is it forever? Even if it took 5 years instead of 4, could she elect to switch to animal science after she completes her sophomore year? She’s pretty fixated right now on the guaranteed transfer idea. Thanks for all your help and wise advice!
If she does another university in animal science, she can easily apply for transfer in animal science to Tamu.
If you’re talking going psa and then changing majors… it’s frowned upon but not impossible. Gotta follow the requirements if any for max hours, required courses etc. can’t be a closet major for the first year at Tamu or could be called out and put on probation.
Thanks so much! Pushing to try for a transfer seems the most sensible.
I think she should try tx stats! She may fall in love with it and find her place and if not, transfer.
She can always apply to Tamu vet school and get that ring!!!

ChristiR93, you’re so right. I I have to research the competitiveness of animal science major transfers. Hopefully it’s nothing like Mays!
Thanks again!
I believe there are 2 different degrees in animal science. One is more science and one is more business side.
So look at both.
If your child gets a PSA offer for 1st major Computer Engineering and 2nd major Computer Science and they don’t want PSA, is there a plus to applying at TAMU Galveston for Computer Science. Can someone tell me the pros and cons to this?
You can’t apply to computer science or engineering at Galveston. They don’t offer it. They offer ocean engineering as a bachelors but the rest of engineering is through cstat engineering for first year. Then they move to cstat after ETaM.
I had a PSA student change his major after 1 semester at A&M. (He didn’t intend to when he selected PSA but 1 semester was all it took for him to realize he’d made a mistake. He had to explain in his request for a change of major.) He had to temporarily switch to General Studies in order to be allowed to take the prerequisites for his new major. The TAP advisors (Transition Academic Programs) were wonderful and made the change smooth.
How long after the change major and request to change major button disappears are y’all hearing a decision? One of our buttons has been gone for over 24 hours and it still shows Application Complete and In Review!
Same day.
What do you think it means in our case?
Do you still think a PSA is coming?
Hi Christie, I think on the other 2026 thread you said one of your kids did psa at corpus right? Can you give some details on their experience?
Can you give more details on the psa program at corpus? Do the psa kids meet together or have classes together? Any way to select a psa kid for potential roommate? How is the campus…we are familiar with corpus but have never seen the campus, we plan to attend the weekend visit on 3/26. Any info is appreciated!
