oops, by forum i meant thread.

All right, what I'm about to say has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed right now, and it's been covered before, but I just want to make sure:

If we're turning in our TASP application by mail, the application has to be postmarked by January 22nd. Does this mean that my transcript and letter of evaluation should be sent out with the application on January 22nd, or should it be sent out separately on January 15th?

Ack. Logistics. >_<

If you're mailing it in, just send it all together on the 22nd.

Ooh, thanks comisar, I was having a little panic attack there. X)

I really don't understand why the deadlines are different. Does anyone know the reason?

haven't the faintest clue.

also, my semester doesnt end until the end of january and so my transcript wont be updated until early february. That means that my transcript only has my schedule through the end of sophomore year. is this a problem? will they want to see junior year grades and classes as well?

mine only has my freshman/sophomore year grades too, dandelion. plus, my guidance counselor refuses to sign it because she says it's incomplete. whatever. i hope tasp understands.

Lol sorry. So I put the Part 1 into Acrobat and typed on it.

I believe the dates are different as for paper applications the information has to be entered into a database, where as online applications are automatically entered. So for paper applications there is more processing time.

For:
Mail Applicants; everything due on 22nd
Online Applicants; Rec and Transcript due on 15th**, Part I and II due on 26th

**Some one did call into the ithica office and they said that 15th wasn't as crucial of a date but just try to get the letters into them ASAP

Hopes that helps :-D

dandelion, I have the same problem - my finals aren't until next week, so I'm probably only going to have my sophomore year classes and grades on there. It hopefully shouldn't be a problem, as the TASP staff probably just wants to make sure we're not failing all of our classes.

crimson, I guess they wanted to compensate for the whole "turning things in online a few days late" thing. After all, if those Internet-savvy people get 4 more days to work on their essays, they should pay for it by having less time to get transcripts and rec letters, right? Actually I have no clue, but that's my theory.

here's an incomplete list. someone mentioned their rankings in a previous post. i can't find it right now, but just copy and paste.

all right well I e-mailed the TASP staff about our lovely predicament and I'm waiting for a reply. I suppose one solution would be to send our transcripts in by the deadline, but then send in another set in february once they have been updated with first semester grades and classes. although, maybe the TASP office doesnt want to be flooded with multiple copies of transcripts.

Just adding to the list, because this is so much more fun than studying for my math test tomorrow. eek.

hmm, we have simliar rankings. heh. mine are like 1,2,3 very closed together, then 4 and 5 all the way down at the bottom.

close* tencharac

YAY!!! Everyone likes Michigan. That way when we all get in I will be like yea whats up Roamorse, because all the TASS sessions are at UM.

^^^Thank god for race XD

lol... IF we get in, giantredlobster. that is a big, big if.

i have a quick question about the essays that has been vexing me for a while. i'm a strong religious believer and my life practically revolves around it. hence the problems that interest me (#2) and problems i've faced (#3) in the essay portion will most likely be religion-related. is this a problem? i do not want to come off as one advocating my religion but trying to just display my passion for it. it is a very fine yet subtle line =/ any thoughts?

i say go for it... they're not going to have a problem if you're religious.

haha be positive Roam.

Thats my new platform.

as long as you focus on how YOU have been affected by your religion and not how others have been/could be affected, i think that could make for a very powerful, insightful, thoughtful essay.

and for the record, roam IS a girl?
