My question is: if I were to send my app ON JANUARY 22, would it still make the deadline? I could send it first class, but the app says that it just needs to be postmarked Jan. 22. Is that ok?</p>

<p>Sheep, look at the time posted on your local mailbox. If you drop it in before the posted time (5pm or whatever), it should get postmarked on that day and it'll be fine.</p>

<p>I've just finished the "topic of your choice" one, and have barely started the analysis. Luckily, though, I don't start school until the 29th...except...I'm on an exchange program in Berlin right now (not exactly the right place to be while writing TASP essays!).</p>
<p>Oh, and BTW, EXTREMELY important question: Which time zone does TASP consider? (i.e. can I send it at 11:59 PM Eastern time on the 26th? ...Hopefully I won't ever need to get THAT close to the deadline though!!)</p>

<p>Why does guidance charge for transcripts?? Ours are a dollar a piece. I can get it sans the dollar charge, but then it won't have the school insignia or something or other.</p>
<p>And it's not about confidentiality either? My counselor would just hand it to me...I guess I'll just pay the $3...compared to college, I think it's a reasonable application fee.</p>

<p>actuarialdj--I know individuals that have finished their applications in a single day. they didn't go to school that day and were remarkable people, but YES it is possible and if you have any free time and look at this application and think OMG I WANT TO GO TO THIS PROGRAM then you should just start now. I've said this before: you don't need 8 hours of sleep. Push it down to like 4 hours and BAM four hours of writing are right there. your school should let you send a transcript, I don't see why they wouldn't...</p>
<p>and to someone who asked earlier, YES there are international students. yay for diversity and all of that.</p>
<p>It's too late for the online app, pretty much. Unless you can find a teacher who will write you a letter of rec by yesterday. Well, you can probably get away with sending it in within the next day or two...but if you're applying online, the transcript/LOR were technically due yesterday.</p>
<p>But if you're applying by paper, you have five days to write 5 essays. If you think you're up for it, go ahead. But let me just say that half the people on this thread have been freaking out about these essays for the last month or so. It depends on you and how much of your day you're willing to spend on the essays.</p>

<p>I feel like my essays aren't long enough. All but one is around a page in length. Is this a bad thing? I feel like I've said everything that needs to be said but it seems like everyone who got in last year had really long responses....</p>

PLEASE stop sending me requests to see my essays. If you've been following this thread closely enough to see that I once offered to share my essays with someone (I believe it was originally with one person who had asked), you should have also seen the TWO other times I asked for people to stop requesting them, and the messages in which roamorse and someone else said that they would forward my essays to anyone who was interested.</p>
<p>I really hate to be rude, but every day there are new PMs from people asking for my essays, and I don't understand why....</p>
<p>dandelion--if you think you've covered everything, it should be ok. If you're still uncomfortable about sending them in short, see if you can expand upon your points, put in more examples, etc. On the plus side, it sounds like you're being concise, which is very very good.</p>
<p>Is there a downside to having really short essays?</p>
