TASP 2015

@say5256 Absolutely not, lol. They read your essays and decide for you which one you’d be best in. Choice really doesn’t have anything to do with it, unless you’re super outstanding, I’d reckon.

@say5256‌
For last year’s TASS, they said seminar choice was an important essay, since they won’t send you to a place that you expressly state that you don’t want to go to, but that they do end up choosing which one you’d be best in, like @mightve‌ said. Also, they said they wanted to see why you wanted to go, and that those comments would be an admission factor, though not a big one.

BTW, my TASS interviewer last year said that when she went to TASP there was this really anti-African-American, racist guy who’d forward her bogus medical and scientific information about how certain races were inferior. The point of saying that is two-fold:

  1. The Telluride Association isn't really too political in their admissions policy, and according to the interviewer, they like people really expressing themselves rather than necessarily toeing the line of an issue or topic
  2. The interviewer said that even though there was that situation, it was an amazing and transformative experience.

Oh, also, TASS alumni do often get into to TASP, but it is a self-selective group of people though…

Who takes the SAT on sat

I do

Btw, any alumni willing to answer questions around here?

Well, I’m not an alumni of TASP, but I am one for TASS. But I do know somethings about TASP because the people from TA came to talk to us and also one of our tutors went to TASP, so I am open to any questions y’all may have!

@Le1997 What was the most interesting/fun experience you had at TASP?

I didn’t go to TASP, but for TASS, the most interesting experiences included the guest speakers and bonding with the tutors and other TASSers. The activities you do solely depend on your choices and actions, so every TASP/TASS is different.

the lack of activity makes me feel even more ashamed about obsessively checking this thread… hope everyone is having a good end of semester though!

We are all quite fearful

The wait is killing me and its not even February. I won’t last… :S

First round results come out early march, right? #toomuch

happy february guys! hang in there! what are you all doing this month while we wait?

Is TASS as competitive as TASP?

I feel like apologizing to my family and friends in advance for the gloomy robot I will become come March if (when) I don’t get accepted.

+Boo at the inactivity of this thread! Don’t any of you potential TASPee intellectuals have something to discuss? How about them oil prices eh?

Super Bowl favorites? I’m cheering for N.E. Patriots (despite my living where Marshawn Lynch grew up).

N.E. gotta get that northeast pride up

It was a realy great game, being a fan of neither team at least we got a good show

Second semester … juniors  anyways, heres to finishing junior year strong!

Dumb question, but when should we be first hearing from Telluride, and will they let you know if you didn’t get in?
