TASP 2018

And how did you guys approach the first question? I’m worried that I’m going to spit out something generic.

@carrotchild , I approached the first question as an experience I had out the classroom. I have not Year done the third question. For the second one, is it ok to have a main text and a side text?

@Acortez122 what do you mean a main text and a side text? You mean a story or formatting? Because remember formatting isn’t preserved in the application

For essay #2, how specific do you guys cite/ use the text? Did you quote from the text? I am using a book, but I did not really use it in a very specific fashion (did not quote from the book/ use like 2 short paragraphs to give some general idea of the book)

@cxnxicee i took actual quotes from the book! i sort of analyzed them

And for the first text, are we allowed to talk only about one experience? or of all of our experiences throughout education

@carrotchild on the application it said “What experiences have you felt fortunate or unfortunate to have?”, so probably more than 1 experience

Well actually I just focused on one experience. I think the question was just a guideline for you to think on what experiences have You felt fortunate/not fortunate to have and focus in one. That’s what I did. Though, everything is up for your interpretation. They want to see how you took it and answered it.

Also, @Sougiya what if we had one main text we analyzed, and little bits of citations from another piece of text. For example, I use 3 text sources, but really focus on just one.

@Acortez122 did you talk about both fortunate and unfortunate event you faced?

@Acortez122 Well as long as it doesn’t get confusing I’m sure they won’t have a problem with it. I am using two different stories and sprinkling them into each other equally so sounds fine to me.

How did you all format the list? I’m so lost on that question and it’s the last one I have to go.

@bachbend look at previous comments before you ask lol, pretty sure you’ll find your answer on page 4 for me at least

An unfortunate very educational experience.

How did you cite sources? Did you cite sources, if at all? And in MLA or APA? Works cited necessary?

@Acortez122 I didn’t cite any sources, why would you need to? For second question just mentioned the title and author, that’s it.

Is it a must to include quotes?

@cxnxicee they didn’t say so, so probably not. I’m including a couple where I feel like it, but you don’t have to. As long as you reference specific parts in the text you’re fine.

For the second to last short answer, did you put leadership positions too?

I put my officer role in the club and add a brief note on what my responsibilities are

How professional do your essays sound? I’m suddenly regretting my choice of tone…
