@MrElonMusk Was the honors invite snail mail or email?
@RustyNail17 - The honors college invites are by email. My son received his today. He is a math major with a 3.83 UW GPA, 1540 SAT and 13 APs.
Does anyone know if the invitations sent today are the only invitations to Honors available? I tried calling the number on the website, but the mailbox is full and no one answers.
Has TCNJ sent out waitlists/rejections to anyone yet?
@RustyNail17 Yes it was by email
For those who haven’t gotten a decision yet, I called TCNJ today. Was told that the decision letters are sent in batches. Last batch sent last week - hence the people who hear over the weekend/early this week. The next batch will be in the next few weeks. They will keep sending until April 1st. I asked if those that received already were from specific majors, etc. The answer was no. It does seem to me though there is rhyme/reason behind this process. This is totally just my guess. Nothing to substantiate this. Maybe everyone is put in piles - definite, maybe, and no. Maybe the definites went out and they are waiting to see what the take rate is before the maybes and no’s go out.
Thank you so much for your response, I hope the batches extend to honors invitations as well!
@veggylover @MrElonMusk Thanks my son checked his email & it was there!
@MACmiracle I am an early childhood ed and psychology major and they emailed me saying that the acceptance rate for students who applied with psychology dropped down to 20% and gave me the option to switch my major.
@taylorfasano Thanks for the information about the psychology major. I had no idea it was so competitive.
Will you choose another major and if so, which one?
@MACmiracle you’re welcome! It wasn’t always that competitive but they said due to the amount of students applying for psychology the acceptance rate dropped. And yes, I did switch my major to early childhood ed and sociology since I am interested in both. I am still waiting to hear back though.
Update: friend of mine got rejected from TCNJ
Edit: She got a letter, she applied to CS and the letter said that out of about 13,000 applicants, they took around 1,000
I went and checked my mail right after she texted me and I got nothing, so maybe I have a chance?
They sent me a mail to home and it’s very competitive to get in this year.
@SO180242 did you get an email saying you got rejected/waitlisted? If so can you please state your stats.
I just got my Honors invitation! I guess they do send it out in batches. I didn’t receive any merit, btw.
Still nothing today, I wonder if my application’s making them think too hard
