TCNJ vs Rowan vs Rutgers vs Temple

Hello
So I applied to three instate schools for my undergrad (lol saving money is the way to go) and one out of state school
Rowan is definitely the cheapest out of all my options and Rutgers/TCNJ/Temple come down to the same priceā€¦

It would make sense for me to choose Rowan but I donā€™t want to let go of any opportunities or make a decision which I will regret lol.

Which school would be the better school for me to pre med at --DISREGARDING MONEY?? (research, one-on-one attention, medical school acceptance rate, classes, etc)

I am absolutely in love with TCNJ! I got in as a Bio Major. I just completed my honors application so hopefully I will hear back in the following weeks :stuck_out_tongue: And I have been admitted into the Honors Programs at all other schools  Basically I got in as a Bio Major to all four schools

LOL May 1st is approaching fast !!!

THANK YOU,
LOVE YA!

TCNJ is a wonderful school.

What would each school cost? It depends how much cheaper Rowan is.

@newjerseygirl98
LOL well for TCNJ/RUTGERS/TEMPLE The cost comes down to about 20k
and for Rowan its only 9k so the gap is pretty hefty

If you can afford TCNJ, then go there.
If itā€™s not affordable, it wonā€™t be an option. Go to Rowan.

I can afford all schools of course Rowan would be easier to pay forā€¦
LOL I hope to be a doctor and the cost doesnā€™t really make a difference after (if it means Iā€™ll enjoy it and be more prepared for med school)

Rowan has two medical schools. One is allopathic and one is osteopathic.

You should see if preference is given.

Still I would go to TCNJ.

TCNJ (esp. with Honors) or Temple Honors. Have you spent an overnight or a day there?
Try for an overnight at each. Attend two classes: freshman bio and freshman English/Humanities Honors. Contact Honors to ask if they have tours, if you can meet professors. Eat in the cafeteria (not jsut for the food, but to see if students are social and friendly, if they self segregateā€¦), stay in the Honors dorm, visit the library, read the college paper to see what concerns students and how articulate/respectful they are in expressing their concerns.

If both schools are affordable, I agree with @MYOS1634 .

@MYOS1634 and @newjerseygirl98 No I havenā€™t but I am going to visit TCNJ soon (Next week)! And as far as Temple goes I donā€™t think Iā€™ll be happy there mainly cause of the surrounding area and its out of state so its my last optionā€¦
The real debate is between Rowan (cause of the money) and TCNJ

Iā€™d pick TCNJ then. Strong academics, peers that will challenge you, good teaching and advising.

$44k savings would make a small dent in expensive medical school costs.

Yep! TCNJ is a little more well known that Rowan, especially for their Bio departmentā€¦ And 44k is something I can just pay off later but its important for me to choose the best college  I am leaning towards TCNJ rn

Visiting next Saturday lol hope Iā€™ll commit after visiting and call it a day!

Do keep us updated.

Tough oneā€¦ Iā€™d say TCNJ or Rutgers if you can afford it, otherwise Rowan

I can only afford to go to TCNJ or Rutgers if I take out more money in loans LOL but rowan is easy cause I wouldnā€™t have to take additional loans out!

What do you mean by ā€œadditional loansā€ā€¦ do you mean ā€œloans on top of federal loansā€ (ie., Parent PLUS) or do you mean ā€œmore loans than at Rowanā€?
The academic difference between Rowan and TCNJ is significant, but not to the point you should get Parent PLUS loans.

@MYOS1634 Yep! If I were to go to TCNJ then I would have to get loans from outside sourcesā€¦idk which one yet

Arghā€¦Didnā€™t your parents say they could cover 20K?

Not really they can go up to only 10k
