Can anyone comment on the availability of merit based $ for in state?

Is there a better chance of getting it from TCNJ vs Rutgers?

I am I.B with a 3.9 UW and 1970 SAT - lots of EC including my own web publishing business.

Rutgers gives scholarships upto $19,000. TCNJ only gives scholarships upto $8,000. However, Rutgers makes scholarship decisions primarily on your rank and SAT scores. TCNJ has a more hollistic approach.

My son was offered the Presidential Scholarship at RU for 07 and it's not worth $19,000. It is $17,000. Still a nice deal but not a "full ride."

There are some that are offerred for $19,000 at Rutgers but I think they're really hard to get... maybe they're reserved for people that really need that extra money to attend college? Who knows..
