Teach For America 2013 Corps

Awesome! Has anyone done the online activity yet. I can’t seem to find two hours to sit down and get it done and it has to be done by the 6th :-/

I’ve done it, it really doesn’t have to be 2 hours, you might knock it out in 1:30

Awesome! So where is everyone hoping to be placed ?

Im in NY now, so I want to stay here, besides that all cities.in.the east besides Delaware. but my hometown LA is my 4th choice. I may add Detroit, but so far that’s it

Finished my online activity! Mookie you were right, it didn’t nearly take my as much time as they allotted.

That’s funny to me that you want to stay in New York. I am in Texas, Dallas area, and the only placement in the south I would accept would be South Louisiana. Otherwise Baltimore is where I have my heart settled on, but Greater Philly and Memphis are other locations I would like as well.

Do you know what you would like to teach ?

I like the east lol I’ve been in LA my whole life I need a change of scenery. But definitely Early childhood education, and special education.

Hey guys! I just joined this thread! I and another one of my friends are applying this year, and i have made it to the final interview round also! I have been doing crazy research on everything since then though lol… how about you guys, anybody else sent directly to the final interview round?

Hey i am from Philly!! I go to school in New York though, Hofstra University. But my top choice is hands down Memphis!

Congratulations Rome345 on making it to the final interview! Would you mind sharing some of what you’ve found through your research? There’s a lot of stuff out there on TFA!

Well yessss, i was just reading things about the final interview and interview tips and stuff. Was your first choice NY for the final interview? Mine was. Some of the tips was obviously to prepare, and practice practice practice!!! Lol And thank you!! Congrats to you as well!!!

I want to get accepted sooo bad!! Truly would be a dream come true!

I feel the same way ! I actually am in Texas so I’ll be interviewing in the Dallas area.

You have any idea what subject you’ll be teaching for your lesson plan. I’m thinking of doing a conjugation lesson in Spanish.

When I had my final interview last year, I made alot of mistakes. Besides timing and logistics, they really like engaging lessons with the class, and for the concept to be grasped by the end of the lesson. And also make sure you work well Within your groups.

The final interview just seems way too intense to me. Not having had experienced it before I’m just really nervous about it.

Hey! I thought I would join this board- I applied at the first application deadline too and was asked for a final interview.

The anticipation is killing me! I wish I could just get it over with and find out if I’m accepted or not!

What are you thinking about placing for your regions/grade levels/subjects?

Oh nice! Do you know what day your interview will be, and i am still trying to figure out what i want to do! I have ideas though

Ahh yes i feel the same!! I am really open to any region. My top choice is Memphis though, what about you?

Yeah, I am pretty open as well! Honestly, I don’t know what my top choice is… I have a lot of deciding to do…I’m from Chicago, but I’m looking to move away from home and try something new. Right now, I’m gearing towards the east coast or the south.

Really? I am from the east coast, and i really want to go to the South! I am from Philly, but would love to move somewhere else! Do you go to school in Chicago?

That’s so funny- Philly is one of the places I’m considering haha! But I’ve honestly picked a bunch of spots that are scattered throughout the US… it would be fun to try something new!

And yeah I go the University of Illinois-Chicago. How about you ?
